My personal favorite posts of 2014

In my last post, I shared my top posts from 2014, based on page views and shares. Sometimes the ones that end up most popular take me by surprise, like How to be friends with an Introvert. It was actually one of my personal favorites, but I didn’t expect it to take off like it did. {That was a nice surprise!}

Because my personal faves don’t always the most popular list, I’m sharing a few of those today, in case you missed them the first time around.

My favorite posts of 2014

family vacation

1) Family Vacation on the NC coast ~ One of my favorites simply because I so enjoyed this memory-making trip, and sometimes blogging is just about sharing moments of our lives. And also, kayaking is awesome!

100 things I want my daughters to know

2) 100 Things I want my daughters to know ~ This one took a lot of effort; one-hundred things is a long list! I had notepads all over the house to jot down ideas as they came to me, sometimes even as I was lying in bed!

foster adoption update

3) Foster adoption: one year later ~ Another straight-from-the-heart post, updating on how life is different with these two littlest people in the family, and how far we’ve all come since the day they moved in.

Birthday Cake

4) 41 things about me ~ This was just fun. It all started because we went to a Christmas party last year where we played a game called “Two Truths and a Lie.” I felt like the ones I came up with were lame because I didn’t have time to prepare. So of course I came home and started a list of interesting facts about myself to be prepared if I ever play that game again. My birthday seemed an appropriately fun time to share some of that list.

DIY white painted kitchen cabinets

5) DIY painted kitchen cabinets ~ Nearly a decade late in posting, I really liked this one because this was one of the biggest projects we’ve ever taken on — and it came out exactly how I’d hoped. Isn’t it great when that happens?!

homeschooing is not frolicking through a field of daisies

6) Is homeschooling a burden? ~ A relatively short post that came out of my response to something another homeschooling mom said. I re-read this one occasionally to remind myself why I do what I do.

Once again, thanks for reading, friends!
