We survived our first day of the homeschool year, and I just had to share a humorous highlight.
At some point during the day, I was standing by my spot at the table and Kathryn came back from the kitchen with a grin on her face and her hands behind her back. She said, “Hey, Teacher! This is as close as I can get to an apple.” And she proceeded to plunk down one of our homegrown tomatoes on my desk.

Quite a funny girl, that one.
I’m glad I get to spend my days with her.

I’m a big fan of authentic conversation and always appreciate hearing what you have to say. Thanks for reading.

Yippee! First days can feel awkward even when you know the teacher. My daughter gave me a cucumber on our first day this year.
Awesome! Have a great year!
Cute! ๐
Cute!
A cucumber? That’s even funnier than a tomato!
I love it! Funny kids.

Aww…this is too sweet!! My son always tells me that I’m his favorite teacher. Melts me. ๐ Hopped over to your blog from the hop! Hope you have a GREAT year!!
I’d happily except the homegrown tomato over the apple. Yum!!! I’m going to be so sad when I have to use store bought tomatoes again.
Treasure these times! So glad we have blogs to keep a record of our homeschool days ….. aren’t you?
