Last-Minute Christmas Gift Ideas for Moms

17 December, 2013; Filed Under: community

There are only seven shopping days left until Christmas! Have you finished shopping for the special moms in your life? If not, I have a few last-minute gift ideas…

Last Minute Gifts for Mom

1 – Gift card for [more] books!

Many moms — especially the homeschooling moms I know — have a book addiction. And thankfully, this is one addiction it’s okay to indulge. I’m willing to bet she’ll put an Amazon gift card to good use. Available in any amount, and can be easily designed online and printed out!

2 – Gift certificate to a salon or spa

Moms deserve a little pampering every now and then. Swing by a nearby salon or spa and pick up a gift certificate for a massage, manicure and/or pedicure, or hair cut.

{I, for one, feel like a new woman when I have a freshly adorable ‘do!}

3 – Coffee shop gift card

Starbucks, Einstein’s (currently my favorite place to take my laptop and do a little work), or a locally owned coffee shop: a gift card to one of these places is a great mom gift. {I’m hoping for one in my stocking!}

4 – Shop the Compassion Catalog

Choose a gift from Compassion’s online catalog, and when you check out, you can download and print a card to let the recipient know you’ve given a gift in her honor. Perfect for a last-minute gift AND you’re helping children living in some of the world’s poorest countries.

5 – Supplies for her own creative pursuit

Moms often do crafts or art projects with the kids, but tend to let their own creative interests slide by the wayside. However, I’ve learned that a little creativity does wonders for my sanity, and I don’t think I’m a rare exception in this matter. I’m guessing there is quite likely a Walmart or some sort of craft store near you: JoAnn’s, Michael’s, Hobby Lobby… so stop by one and get her a few supplies for her favorite hobby — or for a new hobby she’d like to try!

I’ve decided to take up crochet so I’ve asked for yarn and needles — or are they called hooks? I have much to learn!

6 – Tickets to a homeschool convention

(Disclosure: GHC is one of my sponsors!)

By this time of year, most homeschool moms could use a little something to refuel her enthusiasm for homeschooling. A convention like GHC offers inspiration and resources to keep her running strong. This could be a family trip, a couple’s event, or a just-for-mom weekend!

7 – Bible Study for Busy Mamas

“Bible Study for Busy Mamas” now has a new book in the series. These studies are a do-able length for real-life moms, but still manage to get deep into scripture. The great last-minute part of this is that these studies are now available in kindle or ebook format! Through 12/31, you can get an extra 10% off with coupon code CHRISTMAS13.

8 – Homemade coupons

I remember making customized “This coupon good for…” to give to my mom when I was little.  These can be anything from offering to clean the kitchen every day for a week; cook meals; watch the little kids while she takes a bubble bath… your imagination is the limit. The kids can get in on the fun of making these, too!

. . . . . .
I’m linking with List It Tuesday, hosted by Kris and Angie.
