Homeschool Journal (with My Favorite Elf!)
Crafting with my favorite little elf, and sick days later in the week: one is obviously more fun than the other, but we can accommodate for both because of this blessedly relaxed and flexible home-educating life of ours.
In my life this week…
We were *thisclose* to being featured in the local news as a family who strives to teach our kids the real meaning of Christmas. It was a very last-minute sort of thing, and we didn’t respond in time, but I’m honored that we came to mind as that kind of family.
In our homeschool this week…
We’ve been playing with modeling clay! It’s so fun; I forgot how much I love it.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
Make time to play.
I know, I know: the kids need to learn math and history and all that — but they also need not ever forget how to play. And I don’t mean just send the kids out to play; you play, too! If you’re like me, you may have nearly forgotten how, but homeschooling is a great opportunity to re-learn. So go play!

I love the picture of your elf crafting. Please consider adding this post to “Its a Wrap.” And, yes, it is an honor to be considered as a family who embraces advent for its true meaning.
Too bad you were not in the news, but yes, it was an honor to be chosen. Too bad you were not in the news.
I love the two photos of your “elf”. Homeschoolling makes things like this a sweet memory instead of a stressor over who has to stay home to watch the sick kid!
Congratulations on being a family that the paper thought of. That’s great!
That first statement was “worth the price of admission”! 🙂 Being able to accommodate the things that come up because of the blessing of relaxed home education. A true blessing indeed.
I love the crafting elf picture! 🙂 How wonderful that you were thought of when they needed a family who knows/learns the real meaning of Christmas! That is an amazing distinction and one, unfortunately, that isn’t too prevalent today. Hope you have a great rest of your weekend! 🙂
Thanks for indulging me and adding your cute elf to the “Its A Wrap,” link up last week. I hope you’ll be back again, soon.
