Hope for the Weary Mom is being re-released! LaToya has read this new-and-improved, expanded version, and shares her review here today…
Motherhood is hard work, but I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that. There are moments where I am completely overwhelmed by the task of taking care of my children. These are days where I don’t want to get out of the bed {and sometimes I don’t}. These are the days where I put the boys in front of the TV and just let them watch movie after movie while I cry in the bathroom.
When I first became a mom I didn’t understand that these moments and days are normal. I really thought there was something wrong with me for wanting to quit and feeling inadequate as a mother. I felt many times that my children would be better off with someone else for their mom. It seemed that everyone else had themselves together, why couldn’t I? Have you been there? Are you there now? I’ve got just the book for you:
Brooke {MOB Society} and Stacey {MOD Squad} have teamed up to write Hope for the Weary Mom: Where God Meets You in Your Mess. I believe this is a book that every mom should read. Check out the table of contents:
Chapter One: Why God Meets Us in Our Mess
Chapter Two: When You Don’t Measure Up
Chapter Three: When Your Weakness Is All You Can See
Chapter Four: When You Want to Run and Hide
Chapter Five: When Life Hurts Too Much
Chapter Six: When You Come to the End of Yourself
Chapter Seven: When the Gentle Words Won’t Come
Chapter Eight: When the World Presses In
Chapter Nine: When You Just Want to Give Up
Chapter Ten: When Weary Moms Walk Together
And at the end of each chapter there are discussion questions for you to answer on your own or in a group. When I read this book I cried and cried. It was like someone had been living in my house and actually seen the struggle I was having as a mom. This book reads like a chat with a girlfriend. It lets you know that you are not alone!
Today {Wednesday 10/24/12} you can get a copy of “Hope” free on Amazon!
