5 favorite instagrams to follow

24 June, 2014; Filed Under: family & home

Even when I’m not blogging, not spending much time on social media, I still find myself returning to instagram. Sharing bits of my life, soaking up bits of others. It’s funny how much community can be found there, amidst the filter-laden square pics.

I find myself drawn overall to those who inspire me: artists, authors, DIY-ers, homeschoolers, adoptive parents, and adventurers. I’m selective about who I follow, but these are five of my favorite dream-chasing instagrammers; I believe you’ll enjoy them, too.

my 5 fave instagrammers

1- worksology
Once upon a time, a young couple in Kansas decided to sell their home and just about everything they owned, live full-time in a 27-foot Airstream trailer, and visit every national park in the United States. Imagine the childhood their 5-year-old son is having!

2- whereiskylenow
Another Airstream-traveler, Kyle has visited every state in the U.S. (except Hawaii, for obvious reasons). Now five years into his dream-chasing adventure, he is still going strong and last I checked, he’s currently in Canada!

3- tiffanyruda
I think I first found Tiffany because she’s another short-hair girl. But then I loved how she decorates her home, her unschooling philosophy, and her adventurous spirit. Not long ago, she and her husband followed their dream of moving to the beach; it’s been fun to watch. And an adorable puppy has just joined the family!

4- chateaugudanes
Step one: travel to France (from your home in Australia). Step two: buy an abandoned chateau built in the 1700’s. Step three: share gorgeous photos that make us simultaneously drool/dream while imagining what an overwhelming project a restoration like that would entail.

5- sehatcher81
Sarah and her husband chased their dream of a family by loving and eventually adopting three children through foster care. Once things settled down, they decided to foster again with intent to adopt if possible. Not only are her photos (and her children!) beautiful, she inspires me with the words she shares; her IG is really a tiny little blog. {Her account is set as private but she welcomes new instagram friends!}

Instagram is probably my favorite social media outlet. I haven’t seen these accounts before and I will totally be following some of them. I follow so many I don’t know, who I would recommend. I love Pioneer Woman’s obviously. I also love @allie_thatsme @thefrugalgirl @eanfe @bevcooks. Oh my gosh there are so many good ones!

Thanks Jen! I love your FL pictures and love your family’s story. Greg and I admire that you had a vision and made it a reality for your family.

I plan to join the instagram world really soon! My teen daughter got a smart phone before I did because I am so selfless – haha – no. because she really wanted one and I didn’t, but now that has changed with my first grandchild on her way šŸ™‚
