It works!

1 May, 2010; Filed Under: homeschool

Just had to share this link, in case you haven’t seen it. It’s a news article about a girl who has been homeschooled since birth, and has recently been accepted to some very elite schools: Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Penn, Brown, Duke, Chicago, Cal-Berkeley, USC, and a few others!

Read the entire article here: “Home Schooling Works.” (I bet you already knew that!)

“… proves it doesn’t take a state certified teacher, or a teachers union, or a village to raise a child — it only takes two loving parents…”

Honestly, I don’t care if my kids go to college at all, as long as they are following the LORD with all their heart. It is nice, though, to have something positive in the news about homeschooling, especially with new legislation in the works that could make it more difficult for parents to homeschool their children. (See HSLDA’s website for more about that.)

I love coming here! I find all sorts of great ideas and have flashbacks of first grade all at the same time. Makes me feel young again. 🙂 Smart too!

Thanks for the above report. Even though I am a South African, this story confirms my beliefs of the great benefits of dedicated homeschooling. We all rejoice in this young lady’s success! I too, pray for my children to live out their calling and purpose with passion and devotion.
