Life lately: June edition
“In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours.
In all the world, there is no love for you like mine.”
Maya Angelou
Date night: casual dinner out and a walk on the beach.
June has mostly looked like hot summer days and visiting family. Brandon, Diane, and little Carter the week of Memorial Day, and Kathryn’s step-sister/friend spent another week after that. We played at the beach, mini-golfed, shopped at the Farmer’s Market, visited the lighthouse — and we are all 100% smitten with Carter.
For my astute readers who noticed reference to grandbaby number 3 in my birthday post, no Diane isn’t expecting twins. Carter’s little brother is due in August, and Lindsey is also expecting, due in December. So yes — we’ll be grandparents to three little ones by the end of the year!
We’re tying up the end of the month with a brief visit from my cousin Jonnia and her youngest son Cullen before they head up the east coast for more adventure.
I ran another 5k road race last weekend: the Freedom Run, which kicks off the Independence Day festivities around here. Although it was sticky-hot, I was tickled about finishing faster than my last 5k in May. We’re looking forward to more fun this weekend and hoping the weather turns out good for the 4th of July parade and fireworks!
Have a safe and happy weekend, friends.

Congratulations on grandbabies & running in the 5K. That’s awesome! Enjoy your 4th celebration!
Congrats on the growing extended family, on the 2nd 5K & on running a faster time! All great news 🙂
I hope Lindsey is doing well and has a good pregnancy.
