One Thousand Gifts
“Rejoice always! Pray constantly. Give thanks in everything,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I have these verses framed in my kitchen as a constant reminder, and I think “give thanks in everything” means “give thanks in everything,” so I want to be more intentional about thankfulness. After all, gratitude is a form of worship. I keep seeing this on several of the blogs I read, and finally decided to participate as well. So I’m planning to post at least twenty-five of my “one-thousand gifts” every week. I’m a day late this week, but I wanted to go ahead and get started. If you’d like to join in, click that button above.
Of course, these are in totally random order:
- God’s mercy and grace
- the ability to read
- my five senses
- a Bible-teaching church
- worship music
- the experience of being pregnant & giving birth
- the experience of adopting
- our Africa trip
- clean drinking water
- electricity
- indoor running water
- hot showers
- flowers
- faithful friends
- healthy children
- freedom to worship
- freedom to homeschool
- a house to live in
- no risk of starvation
- decent medical care
- a loving, Christ-serving husband
- my electric tea kettle
- cameras
- books
- the unconditional love of dogs (like Lacy the WonderDog)
Wife, mom, J-ma. Introvert who enjoys good books, sunshine, and authentic conversation. Often seen with a steaming mug of tea in hand – unless it’s lost yet again in the microwave. Read more »
