Gran’s Pound Cake Recipe

My grandmother’s pound cake tastes like moist, dense angel food cake. Even friends who don’t like pound cake love this pound cake! Don’t bother figuring up calories; I’m sure it’s off the charts. I’m telling you, this cake is heavenly. But I’m convinced that somehow, in heaven, it’ll be good for you!

Old Fashioned Pound Cake

Granmama’s Pound Cake Recipe


  • 3 sticks butter, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk

  1. Cream together butter and sugar.
  2. Gradually add remaining ingredients and mix on medium/high ’til fluffy and smooth.
  3. Pour into greased and floured Bundt cake pan, and bake 1.5 hours at 300 degrees.


Fabulous with a cup of coffee – or tea!
