Stuff your stockings with a HUGE Giveaway!

19 November, 2012; Filed Under: community

Y’all are in for a treat! A whole bunch of bloggers (forty of us!) have teamed up for a seriously awesome giveaway to stuff your stockings with over $1100 worth of goodies, including two $250 cash prizes, as well as oodles of other great gifts!

How’s that for Christmas spirit?

(I can hear those sleigh bells jingling already!) ๐Ÿ˜‰
Christmas stocking stuffer giveaway

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Maybe you prefer not to think about Christmas until after you’ve eaten your Thanksgiving turkey — but I’m a planner. Although I buck my grandmother’s tradition of always having her tree (and all sorts of other Christmas decorations) up before Thanksgiving, I do already have my Christmas cards designed, I’ve done at least half my Christmas shopping done, and I’ll start wrapping gifts this week. I don’t know about your holiday gift budget, but that $250 would go a mighty long way in mine!

Life events lately have really had me considering what’s important, and what isn’t.
What is important: Spending quality time with loved ones. Making memories. Speaking life-giving words. Giving from the heart. Gifts aren’t important unless they contribute to those other things, so I like to make them count.ย  I don’t want to buy a present just to check off my list; I want to find (buy or make) gifts that speaks to the thought and time and care I put into choosing it. That’s always a big challenge each year, so I’d love to hear some of your ideas for meaningful holiday gifts! One idea: anything from the Compassion and Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Gift Catalogs!

Thanks to all these fabulous holly-jolly blogs participating:

Wow! What a fun giveaway! The $250 would go a long way for our family’s Christmas too. SInce we live in Haiti, we’d probably use it on Amazon purchases, but I would rather use it to buy supplies to make handmade gifts.

We live on the other side of the world from my parents– so this year I’m going to have my girls personalize a mug for each of them. I’m planning on buying plain white mugs from Ikea and let them draw on them with colored Sharpies and then put it in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes to set it. I found the idea here http://whipperberry.com/2012/11/sharpie-art-gift-set-mug-a-love-hot-chocolate.html. I also make a photo calendar every year that we give to family members.

I think a meaningful gift is something homemade. I enjoy making them and I enjoy giving them…..to me it shows the person you really thought about them as you were making their gift b/c you had them in mind! Not just some after thought something that was on sale……that’s me ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the awesometastic give-away!

We give from Compassion catalog and International Justice Mission, as well. This year several family members requested books- so I had the idea of making bookmarks for each book that was a prayer for them about the subject of the book. Love reading your stuff- thanks!

Wow, what an amazing giveaway. We are seeking to give more meaningful gifts this year, particularly to our kids. One of the ideas we had was to buy tickets to places they might enjoy going– experience-type gifts– as parent/child dates. ๐Ÿ™‚

What a wonderful giveaway. The best gifts for me are the well thought out gifts, especially the handmade ones. Yesterday was my birthday, and my 2 sons, ages 7 and 4, had been planning gifts for me for several days. Yesterday morning, they presented me with my gifts made out of their favorite toys – Legos! My 7 year old made me a lego statue that was his interpretation of the sign language sign for “I love you” with minifigures on top, and the 4 year old made me lego earrings – He used tape to put them on my… Read more ยป
