De-cluttering My Life

Over our Christmas break, I began a mass war-on-clutter/organize-my-life project. I’m not one to make “new year’s” resolutions, but it seems like the holidays are a time of year I end up pondering what has been going well, and what changes I ought to make in the fresh new year. This year, the two words at the top of my list are simplify and de-clutter.

  1. I agree, I want to minimize the number of possessions I have to only the things I truly need and truly cherish. People buy so much junk these days that they forget about later. It’s especially a pain when you have to move and have all this junk you don’t even really want to take with you.

  2. Yep – I’m doing the same thing over here. Streamlining, simplifying, and just generally de-junking are (very) gradually making a difference in our home and family life. And whenever possible I am passing the decluttered items on to people (new homeschoolers, family who lost everything in a fire…etc.) who can really use them. It makes me feel much better about parting with it, too.
