Tidbits from the Titus 2:1 Conference

22 April, 2013; Filed Under: family & home

The Titus 2:1 Conference was a blast. It’s hard for those outside of blogland to “get” that you can truly be friends with someone you’ve never met in real life, but it is possible, and so much fun when you get to finally hug a few of those necks or share a meal together.

As the photographer, I heard not only the keynote sessions, but also got to pop in to all of the breakout sessions — which was great! On the down side, I missed part of every session — but still got to hear plenty of good stuff!

I didn’t take many notes, but these are a few little nuggets of wisdom I picked up along the way…

 Zan Tyler:

“Read the word, learn it, understand it and apply it to all areas of our lives…
A biblical worldview is important because it brings focus to a child’s life and gives them direction.”

“Do not allow yourself to be intimidated and DO NOT GIVE UP!”

Toni Anderson:

“Twitter is a place to: Connect; Share; Build; Support; Learn.”

“If you wouldn’t do it offline [i.e: talk only about yourself, etc] then you shouldn’t do it online.”

Deb Chitwood:

“Homeschooling allows for schedules to flex with life…
You really can trust your children. They know what they enjoy.”

Amy Roberts:

“Your blog should fill a void, not add more noise.”

Rebecca Keliher:

“Keep first things first, look for distractions, have accountability and review; keep your time yours.”

Rachael Carman:

“Is the way we’re living lining up with Who we’re loving?”

Next time I go to a conference in a city I’ve never been to before, I will arrive a day early or stay a day after to explore; all I saw on this trip was the inside of the airport and the hotel! I feel like I wasted a chance to see the sights in D.C.

I’m hoping to attend again next May – this time in Chicago! Are you considering going? Sure would be fun to meet more blogland friends! 😉

Sounds like a fun conference! I wished I could have gone this year. Maybe next year if it doesn’t fall on another birthday! 🙂

Oh gosh, I remember that when I worked for our church. I’d traveled to NY so many times but on 9/11, I realized I’d never seen the Twin Towers! So yeah adding in an extra day is a good idea. I do hope to attend a conference next year! You look like you had some fun!
