The county where we live has become the 4th highest county for abortions in Georgia. I’m not okay with that.
Our church works with a ministry called Cobb Pregnancy Services (CPS), which is a Christian ministry offering counseling and help to women facing crisis pregnancies. Many of these women enter the doors convinced that abortion is the answer. After talking with a counselor who shares the message of Christ, and after seeing the life growing inside them during a free ultrasound, many of these women decide not to abort the child. All services are offered absolutely free of charge, Each year, CPS serves more than 4,000 women, and this year, they hope to expand their facility so that they can serve more women.
Some of the services CPS provides:
- free pregnancy testing
- free ultrasounds
- abstinence programs
- parenting and prenatal classes
- post abortion support groups
- baby clothes and supplies
Each year, CPS organizes a “Walk for Life.”
This is an opportunity for supporters of CPS to gather to help raise the financial support that is needed to continue to reach our community. It is estimated that it costs $100 to cover the ministry expense of one woman from pregnancy testing to counseling to prenatal classes and supplies, to the birth of their child.
I participated in the Walk for Life in 2009; thanks to generous friends and family, I was able to raise $500 in a very short period of time! This year, I’ll be walking again, and I’d like to raise even more! Every contribution goes to helping prevent abortion and to share the love of Christ. No donation is too big or too small! If you’d like to contribute, you can email me your mailing address along with the amount you pledge to give; CPS will send you a letter so that you can mail in your donation later.
This year’s walk will be Saturday, April 16th, so if you feel led to give, I’ll need your pledge by that date. If you’re local, I’d love to have you walk with me!
Thanks for taking the time to read and consider this!
