Week-end: links & life {vol. 48}
“If it scares you, it might be a good thing to try.” -Seth Godin
One word: packing. That’s what my life consists of right now. Nothing witty to say about it, but I think moving falls into the category of things — like childbirth — that are subject to selective amnesia. This will be the 15th time I’ve moved, but first time I’ve ever moved out of state!
from around the web:
- 3 Good Reasons for Broadcasting Your Age :: Number 3 is my favorite, one I’ve said myself after meeting a sweet elderly lady who felt the same way.
- Tea Party Cupcake Toppers :: Cutest. Things. Ever. When I recover from moving (in say, six months or so) I may attempt these.
- 18 Things Highly Creative People Do Differently :: Even if you don’t feel like a creative person, you can incorporate some of these habits into your life.
- To an Overwhelmed Homeschool Mom :: If you homeschool, and if you’ve hit a slump, this is a great bit of encouragement.
on the blog (in case you missed ’em!):
- 13+ Book for Teens (and tweens) :: from last year, a few of my resident bookworm’s favorites
- 30-Day do-anywhere fitness challenge :: currently getting a whole lot of re-pinning action.

While I’m here packing, Ken is instagramming photos like these. Torture! It’s less than two weeks now til we move, and it’ll be nice to live in the same state — and the same house! — as my husband again!
Tomorrow I’ll be taking a much-needed little break from packing to have lunch at my favorite tea room with a longtime friend. I’m looking forward to it, and hope you enjoy your weekend, too!
Linking up this week with my friends Kris and Mary.

My goodness, I hate packing, and I have never lived anywhere larger than one room since I became responsible for my own belongings. I feel for you! Good luck with the move, those photos are lovely.
Also, I love that list of reasons to broadcast your age. My girlfriend recently turned thirty, and someone said, ‘Congratulations, or perhaps commiserations?’. Our response was that it was DEFINITELY congratulations. Less than a week before her birthday she was discharged from hospital after almost dying of double pneumonia. Thirty is an achievement!
Yes, another birthday is always a reason for congratulations, not condolences! Thanks for the commiseration on the move, too. 🙂
Wow Jamie, I am so excited for you! The strangest thing: I am grieving your departure! Isn’t that a bit odd? How can that be when I’ve never met you in person, only through blog posts reading. But I am very excited for you guys, and my family and I continue to keep you all in our prayers. We are trusting the good Lord for a smooth transition and believing that He is preparing a new and good thing for you. As for us, we are still contemplating moving to North Carolina, and have narrowed it down to 4 very… Read more »
Thank you, Yolanda! Look forward to hearing what you decide about your own move, too!
I’m VERY excited for you — I need to hear the details of your move, too. 🙂 I hope you enjoy a lovely little break at the tea room.
Yes, more details to come!
My heart is with you while you pack. It is never easy.
blessings, Dawn
Thanks, Dawn! I’m getting there but still a long way to go!
SO Excited to see all your new surroundings! Praying for a safe move and so happy you will reunited with your husband! Happy Packing (wait is that an oxymoron?)
Yep, I think that has to be an oxymoron. 😉
