An Evening Stroll
Sometimes the chores of home-making and the day to day challenges of home-educating can take their toll on a mom’s good attitude. In order to keep our homes and families happy, we need a bit of refreshment; this is the whole idea behind Mother Culture! We must occasionally, as Charlotte Mason encouraged,
“… have courage to let everything go when life becomes too tense, and just take a day, or a half a day, out in the fields, or with a favorite book, or in a picture gallery.”

I know you are right on this! My poor husband. Thank you for the reminder (that I probably need hourly!).
My husband and I like to go grocery shopping when all three kids are at karate. It’s amazing how much faster the task goes when you are having fun! 🙂
We take walks after dinner as a whole family. Everyone (including 4 boys 9 and under) seem to go wild after dinner. Getting out for a walk calms and focuses everyone and gives my husband and I a chance to walk arm and arm and talk at least some of the time on each walk.
I have to admit, my husband aren’t doing too well in this category…not much slowing down. I’m hoping with the weather turning warm, we’ll be able to sent time out on the porch.
