Mother’s Day Tea Party

We don’t need much motivation around here to have a tea party, so when I saw that our friend Mari (affectionately known around our home as “Tea Mari“) was having a giveaway for tickets to a Mother-Daughter Tea Party at the Southern Museum in Kennesaw, we jumped on that opportunity! And we won! What a wonderful way to celebrate Mother’s Day, especially since this is my first Mother’s Day with two daughters since we didn’t even know Lindsey this time last year!

Mothers Day 2010

With BOTH of my beautiful girls at a Tea Party — Saturday, May 8th

I am SO very blessed! Tomorrow, we plan to start our day with church, then celebrate the moms in the family with a cookout at my uncle’s house in the afternoon.  More exciting news: my cousin Matthew became daddy to a GIRL this morning! Matilyn Marie joined the family, and she and mom Monica are doing great. Such a blessing!

This week, several moms I know who have lost a child in recent years have been on my heart and in my prayers more than usual, since Mother’s Day tends to be a very bittersweet day for them. So I hope you’ll join me in praying for those moms, as well as for all the orphans around the world who do not have a mother to celebrate. And for all you moms out there, I pray that your day is blessed, and that even if there is busyness or sibling squabbles or whatever else tomorrow, that you have a joyful day celebrating all your blessings.

oh Jamie! I’m trying hard not to be jealous! I would love to do more tea parties at home but how do you do that without ostracizing our only son?(He’s right in the middle of two girls)

I would love some advice on this as I am looking to embrace a more Charlotte Mason style of education this year!

I am so happy to see you celebrating with your new daughter! Have a blessed Mother’s Day!
