Brandon and Lindsey seem to have some sort of cell-phone-destructive gene, so they have rotated through many phones; sometimes they’ve traded with friends who upgraded their own phones, and for a while Lindsey was without a phone as she saved up money for a new one after her “old” one broke. (“Old” in quotes because it really wasn’t.) Ken has upgraded a couple of times — but has managed not to break any phones. But for the past six years, I have kept my simple little phone — mostly because I just refused to buy a new one until my old one no longer functioned.
But yesterday Ken bought me an early Christmas present: an iPhone!
So it’s out with the old, in with the new!

I wasn’t sure how much I’d like it, but I love it already. I’ve added a few apps, including tweetdeck, iChess, and a wonderful Bible-reading app called YouVersion — which I highly recommend! And what could be cooler than wallpaper background of a giraffe photo I took in Africa? I feel so high tech.
Any other apps I should get?

I’m a big fan of authentic conversation and always appreciate hearing what you have to say. Thanks for reading.

Getting an iPhone changed my life, and I really love seeing the Bible on there, since … well… it sorta changed my life too ๐
Yay! What a nice gift–practical and fun too!
I had the most low-tech phone for a few years until my hubby upgraded and gave me his old iPhone. I really like it, especially the ability to download and use different apps. Some handy apps: ZipList for keeping my grocery list organized and up to date, Pandora for streaming music, RedLaser for price checking to make sure while shopping that I’m getting good deals. I also have a few games that are mostly for my kiddos, but I like them too: Hippo Blast, Cash Cow, Phase 10, Finger Physics, Puz Penguin.
I use the camera quite a bit too. We just bought a house and needed to replace some of the flooring, so whenever I found something I thought would work, I took pictures of the flooring and it’s price tag/specs to show my hubby. By looking at the pictures, he was able to compare and narrow in on what would work best for us without having to do all of the shopping and I didn’t have to take copious notes.
I don’t have an iPhone, but I do have an Android. I love the free Kindle app! There’s one for the iPhone, too (duh!). Since I don’t yet have a Kindle, it’s the next best thing. ๐
ooh nice… having said that, I know nothing about these other than that they look really cool and seem to be easy to use!!
For your children: Geomaster, Math Bingo, Jumbline
For you: Traffic Rush, Flight Control, Words With Friends
The uses of the iPhone are endless. I love it for the camera and listening to music (Pandora). Have fun!
Yes, you are finally high tech! ๐ Oh, how I love my no-longer-old school-now-techie mama! ,<3
